Bakers & Hale, a unique farm to table restaurant, located in Godfrey, IL, is a wonderful destination for delicious, farm fresh food and fun seasonal cocktails!
Kelsi Baker Walden, Executive Chef, was highly influenced by her mid western grandparents, who were both farmers. When she’s not in the kitchen preparing your meal you can probably find her digging around in the garden gathering fresh picks for her next creation. The garden sits just outside of the patio bar.
Rex Hale, Consulting Chef, was pivotal in the opening of Bakers & Hale. His story also traces back to rich mid western roots on the farm at his grandmother’s farmhouse, where she would prepare meals for 30 or more people on the regular. Rex has been widely recognized for his culinary talent, such as The James Beard House candidate for Best Chef in the Mid West, among many other prestigious achievements. Rex has traveled and worked all over the world, from South Africa to Antigua and the British Virgin Islands.
The offerings of Bakers & Hale are traditional, yet surprisingly unique and the faces are friendly. I recommend stopping by for happy hour or a family dinner. Go hungry and thirsty..next time I will be trying the Fresh Heirloom Tomato Salad, the Brisket Mac n Cheese and the Maple Bacon Old Fashioned. Wowzas!
